WARNING : THIS LINK MAY CAUSE YOU TO NEVER EAT A COLD CUT OR SAUSAGE EVER AGAIN...ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
I really wasn't sure that I wanted to post this link as it's truly gross but I figured I'd let you be the judge.
Now I don't know about you but I've eaten a lot of meat in my lifetime, and for the most part I've enjoyed every bite. Steak, hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, pork chops, bologna and salami to name just a few.
But as I've started to "rethink" what I'm eating I've been moving farther and farther away from lots of processed foods.
I only made it half way through this link before I had to stop, but it was still enough of an impact that even when I was shopping in Whole Foods on Saturday, I couldn't look at sausage the same way.
The romance of "organic free-range chicken sausage" kind of lost it's luster.
Chances are sausage prepared at Whole Foods is better prepared than at many stores, but this tour had done it's damage for sure.
I think I may now have PST... post sausage trauma
Now I'm not ready to be a vegetarian, and I doubt I ever will be, but I really think my days of eating a cold cut or sausage very well may be over.
This photo tour you're about to take [if you're brave enough to] was created by Mike Adams, a nature macrophotography buff, who took the pictures in his kitchen, using the same high-end photography equipment he uses to take pictures of flowers and insects.
As you'll see from these pictures, the detail is astonishing. You may never look at your sandwich meat the same way again.
All of his photos are completely un-touched (they were not Photoshopped in any way except to alter brightness and contrast) and were taken of popular processed meat products purchased at Wal-Mart.
First stop on the journey is Oscar Mayer's Cotto Salami product.
