Yes, today I'm 50 years young and I decided this morning that I'd give myself the gift of 365 days of health and wellness in the sense that it's my intention today, and the next 364 days, to "little by little" further rewire my brain and body to be the best it can be at the midpoint of my life.
I've been blessed in millions and millions of ways over the past 50 years with a wonderful family, great health and a ton of amazing life and career adventures, and GOD willing, I'm putting in my order for another 50+ years of wonderful family experiences, great health and tons more amazing life and career adventures.
So to make sure my body can cash the check my mind just wrote, I continue to be determined to bring my body size, weight, physicality and vibrancy into a healthy alignment.
After a lifetime of searching and testing almost every plan know to man, below is my list of resources I've assembled and I intend on using over the next 365 days to make this my healthiest year ever!

So those are my tools and this is my mindset...

If you've been following this blog you may have noticed at one time or another this photo.
It's the one I created and keep posted in plain sight to remind me of my ultimate goal, the goal to one day again weigh 175LBS.
But here's the paradigm shift that I'm going to apply in my life today and over the next 364 days and that is I'm going to mentally live in a 175LB body vs. "weighting" to see the number on the scale. Literally in every "weigh" I can I'm going to BE 175LBS in advance.
From this moment forward I'm going to ATTRACT that reality by already acting as if I'm that weight. That's my mindset and the tools I've assembled will assist me.
And for all you naysayers about "the secret", all I can say then is stay tuned and watch what unfolds.
As you can see above I've declared and asembled a very powerful arsenal of tools that I will tap into over the next 364 days to not only see 175LBS on a scale again, I will have used a year of my life to permanently engrain these teachings into my brain.
In caloric terms here's another "weigh" to think and live as if I'm already 175LBS.
I'll find the link to the exact formula, but I've read many times that in order to maintain your present weight, give or take a few calories, all you have to do is take your weight times 13 and you will know how many calories you can eat a day to maintain your weight.
So since I'm now declaring that I weigh 175LBS that means that on any given day I can eat 2,275 calories if I don't do any real major exercise. In theory if I burnt 1.000 calories on the treadmil I could eat 3,275 calories a day.
So my magic daily number is to stay as close as I can to 2,275 calories a day.
TODAY'S JOURNEY
EXERCISE

BREAKFAST [ 760 calories allotment ]
Starbucks venti 1/2 caf w.unsweetened Silk Soy milk
LUNCH [ 760 calories allotment ]
Grilled chicken breast over romaine lettuce with a rasberry vinegrette
ROAD SNACK
A bag of hot peanuts
DINNER [ 760 calories allotment ]
Kim and I had a wonderful quiet dinner at one of our favorite places, Doris & Ed's in the Atlantic Highlands of New Jersey. I started with a bottle of Anchor Steam, followed by their crabcake appetizer and then one of their signature dinners, grilled wasabi tuna. I even ate my carrots and brocoli rabe.
And yes, I had dessert, a small brownie with a small scoop of their homemade peanut butter ice cream.
Knowing I was going to have a birthday dinner I tried my best to save the majority of my calories for the end of the day, plus my morning burn of 512 calories helped as well. So I don't know the exact caloric count for the day but all in all I'd have to say I was pretty close to being around 2,275 calories.
It felt great going through the day as a 175LB man!
