I'm very curious to see how mypetfat and The Smart Phone Diet get woven into the story Jeanne Moos is doing tonight about NYC's "Are You Pouring On The Pounds?" campaign.
The last time CNN did a piece on mypetfat was "weigh" back in February 2004 when I first outed my 115 lb weight loss success story on national TV. From that one spot on CNN it was a whirlwind of global publicity.
So if you're coming to this site for the first time you would most likely imagine that I lost all the weight I wanted.
Well...
Truth be told over that 5 year period I did loose another 200 lbs, as in... gain a 100 lbs, lose a 100 lbs, gain a 100 lbs, lose a 100lbs, and then gain another 100 lbs. To where I was pretty much right back at square one.
And all the while this was going on I was still selling mypetfat, and posting to my blog, but as you might imagine, I wasn't feeling very good about myself.
Frustrated with this ongoing roller coaster of weight gain and loss I was determined that I could find a "weigh" to better leverage the motivation I got from seeing mypetfat.
Enter... a a digital version of mypetfat which now lives in my iPhone.
In addition to various photos of mypetfat I have stored on my iPhone, I also take pics of everything I'm eating everyday and try my best to post my thoughts on my personal blog to keep me much more mindful of what I'm putting in my mouth. So whether its pics of mypetfat, photo journaling what I'm eating, or listening to high-energy music on my iPhone to motivate me to stay on plan, "The Smart Phone Diet" has become my 24/7 Digital Conscience that has helped me 30 lbs since I started it three months ago. Right now I'm taking it nice and steady committed to lose well over a 100 lbs again, but this time with the 24/7 right-by-my-side support of my smart phone.
