A couple of weeks ago Kim and I attended a Hay House conference in NYC where we got to spend the day listening to the latest "thinking" from Dr.Wayne Dyer and Marianne Williamson. If you're a Wayne and Marianne fan you know it was a great day.

Judging a Diet Book's User by It's Bright Pink Cover

mypetfat has become known all over the world in the past few years as a "visually motivating" weight loss icon ever since daily candy posted Keep Your Enemies Close.

Now there are lots and lots of great diet books out there and they all can help but I was always surprised that for all of the diet books that were published I couldn't find the book that I always knew in my gut was the missing ingredient, the missing link that I have held as my mantra that "fat, it's all in our heads".

Then I found the... "pink book".

I first read about Dr. Beck's work in Forbes magazine, then there was a small mention about her book in an issue of Oprah. So off to the book store I went to buy yet another of the many other "diet" books I've owned.

So as I stood there scanning the "pink book" I noticed right away that not only was this a "thinking" book, no recipies to be found, that's all it was, a "thinking" book.

At first glance Dr.Beck seemed to have written the book that I had always wondered why no one had written.

And now after having followed her "thinking" for the past 49 days not only have I lost 35LBS, more importantly I really feel that I've "gained" a whole new mindset.

This book is a "must-have" book for EVERYONE who is on a diet, is thinking about being on a diet, or even never wants to diet ever again.

It's the missing "mental" OS [operating system] that we've all needed no matter what diet we've ever been on, or ever will be on.

All diets work, they do, for a while, it's not the diet that fails it's our "thinking" that fails and Dr. Beck's book is truly the solution.

Japan tries "Cell Phone Diet"

It's a good thing I'm almost ready to release "The Cell Phone Diet" as it looks as if the "Global Battle of the Bulge" has landed in Japan.

"The battle of the bulge is a growing obsession in Japan, a country that is slowly losing its reputation for low-fat fish-and-rice diets and slim waistlines."

As Japanese have turned to bigger portions and more meat and fried foods, obesity and related illnesses such as high blood pressure have become a rising concern.

The Health Ministry estimated last year that more than half of Japanese men and about one in five women between 40 and 70 years of age — nearly 20 million people — were at risk of metabolic syndrome, a term for a cluster of conditions associated with obesity, high cholesterol and increased risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

With the Health Ministry hoping to reduce by 25 percent the number of people at risk of metabolic syndrome by 2015, Osaka officials hope the cell phone program will help.

"Cell phones are everywhere here," Onishi said. "We're hoping they can now make it easier for people to get help improving their diet."

This morning I opened a link on an email from Progressive Business Publications to an online article on about.com by Paige Waehner titled "Working Out At Work". The article's very good and here's a very interesting link Paige shared from "Aetna InteliHealth".

I got an email today from a frequent Weight Watcher's counselor customer who wanted to know if I had any interesting images that might stir up a conversation at her next meeting.

She said that her current group is pretty quiet and she was hoping I might have an icebreaker.

This is interesting...

I came across a very interesting site by the name of Wellington Grey who is by trade a teacher, or as he says "I am a fundamentally disorganized person with a job that does not allow me to be so: I am a science teacher, foolishly charged by the school that employs me with the edification of 300 students in the ways of physics."

So as I was exploring his site I came across a very clever poster he created to illustrate "The Global Battle of the Bulge" from his unique vantage point.

Jen's lost 80LBS... "Digital Dieting"

After having struggled for years with her weight, Jen over the past year has made an amazing personal transformation in not only losing a lot of weight, most importantly she's done it in a very "thoughtful weigh".
