Dr. Becks prescription for today is to give yourself credit so I decided to create a little visual chart to track the progress I'm making as I "little by little" move the scale to my desired healthy goal weight of 175LBS.
I clearly realize that most likely 1/2 of my 8LB weight loss success over the past 3 days is water-weight loss, but since Dr. Beck wants us to take credit today for our accomplishments I'm just following her directions.
Like everyone else who's ever dieted, it always feels great to to see the LBS go down on the scale, but what's really different this time is that I finally feel that "The Beck Diet Solution" is the "mental" OS [operating system] I've been loking for all of my life. I finally feel that my "thinking" is in alignment with my "intentions".
Hi, It's Judith Beck checking in again today. Sounds like you're really putting the book to good use. And of course it's fine to go at your own speed. I mention in one of the introductory chapters that you can spend a whole week on just one skill, if you want to.
Can I make one suggestion? Before you get on the scale again, read Day 21 (Get Ready to Weigh In). You've had an astonishing weight loss, but realistically, you're going to slow way down. The next time you weigh yourself, your weight could even be up a little, even if you've held your caloric intake and exercise the same. I don't want you to get disappointed and find that your resolve has weakened. So be happy today and prepared for tomorrow.
